Fig. 1 The main content framework of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). In order to achieve the 2050 vision and the 2030 mission, the Kunming-Montreal GBF sets four long-term goals for 2050, namely, biodiversity status (A), sustainable use of biodiversity (B), fair and equitable sharing of benefits (C), and provision of implementation guarantees (D), as well as 23 action-oriented global targets, which are classified into three categories: reducing threats to biodiversity (Target 1 to 8), tools and solutions for meeting human needs through sustainable utilization and benefit sharing (Target 9 to 13), implementation, and mainstreaming (Target 14 to 23).
