    Karyotype anaiysis for the species Tetradoxa omeiensis (Hara) C.Y.Wu of the monotypic genus Tetradoxa C.Y.Wu is reported for the first.The number of the chromosones in the root-tip cell was found ot be 36.Of the 2n=36 fourteen chromosomes .

    We have devloped an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for quantitative analysis of abscisic acid (ABA) by coupling horseradish peroxi-dase (HRP)to ABA directly as an enzyme conjugate.The sensitivity of the assay,50 f mol, is comparable to the radioimmunoassay and the established methods using alkaline phosphatase (AP) -ABA or ABA-bovineserum albumin-AP as the enzyme conjugate.The logit B/B 0 value was linear between 12.5 pg to 100 ng. For improving assay sensitivity and precicion,we have also spproachedtion scheduies, injection doses and route, enzyme conjugate concentration and the dilution of antibody against ABA.

    The experimental reslllt showed: In the mcdium of Murashigr and Shoog (MS) or Schenk and Hidebrandt (SH) added with 6-benzylamino-purine (6 -BA) at 1- 2 mg/l, the sprouting rate of buds in subculture of the buds from the adult seedling app1e trees were over 92%. Buds multiplied 5-6.8 time in fifty days. The length of shoots in a rotating liquid culture was about three times more than that in the culture on agar-medium. In the medium added with indole- 3 -butyric acid (IBA) at 0.2-0.4 mg/l, the ro-oting rate of shoots were over 80%. The suryiyal rate of transplanting tuble- plantlets were more than 85%.

    After a series of heating denatlltation experiments, we found the sweetness of Ma l was irreversibly lost in incubating at 80 0C for 30 minutes, the α-helix of Ma l also disappeared totally and the PAGE beha-vior changed.But the sweetness of Ma Ⅱwasm′t lost at 80oC for 48 h incubation, and its PAGE behavior didn′t change.

    This paper reported the qualitative and quantitative analysis of eriocalyxin A,eriocalyxin B,odonicin,maoecrystal B and maoecrystal Cfrom Rabdosia eriocalyx by HPLC method. The mithod was an initial test for quick microchromatography of diterpenoids from Rabdosia eriocaltyx.HPLC con-ditions as follow :Shinadzu Lc-4A, column, zorbax ODS 250 mmx4.6 mm;mobile phase,methanol-water (70:30);flow rate,0.65 ml/min; pressure,130kg/cm2;detectorSPD-2AS, WACE 230 NM.

    Rabdosia rubescens Hara var.lushiensis Gao et Li (labiatae )which is widely distributed in theFuniushan west area of Henan,had BEEN used for the treatment of esphagel and cardial carcinoma in Henan.We have reported the isolation and the structural determination of ludongnin A from the ethereal extract of the dry leaves of this plant.The present paper, we report studies on a new crystalline diterpenoid, ditrpenoid, ludongnin B[C 20 H 26 O 5 ,MP 296-9.C]which is a minor component isolated from the same plant and its structure has been shown to be ent-6,7-spirosece-7,20-δ-lactonic ring- 6, 19-γ-lactonic ring-16-kaurane-15-one (1)on the basis of spectrodcopic evidence and compared with fnown compound, ludongini A.

    During the course ofour studies on the biologically active con-stituents of Rabdosia plants,seven diterpenoids were isolated from the ether extract of the leaves ofRabdosia eriocalyx (Dunn) Hara var .laxifiora C.Y.Wu et H.LI COLLECTED FROM Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province.Four of them haem have been established as eriocalyxin B (=ent -6α,7α-dihydroxy-7β,20-epoxykaur-16-en -2, 3-ethenylene-l, 15-dione)(1) ,maoecrystai A(-ent-6α-hydroxy-15α-acetoxy-3β 20-epocalyxin-16-en-l,7-dione)(2,maoecrystal B(=ent-6α,7α-dihydroxy-15α-acetoxy-7β,20-epoxy-kaur-16-en-2,3-ethenylene-l-one)(3), and oridonin (4)from spectroscopic data,respectively.

    Two flavonoid glycosides,kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyrano-syl-(6→1)-O-α-L-rhamnopynanoside (1)and kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-[(2→1)-O-α-L-rham-nopyranoside (2)were isolated from the buthanol extracts of oil cake of the seeds of Camellia oleifera Abel., and identified by means of 1H NMR,UV,EL-MS,FAB-MS as well as 13C NMR,together sucrose.

    The contractiaction of the protoplasts during the early development of the microsporangium os observed and the callose wall is fprmed at the same time.The microspor mother cells are separated from each other and were surrounded by callose wall before meiosis.The small pore about 0.2 to 0.3micron in diameter wihin the callose wall was observed.After the tetrad was formed,the nuclear evelope and the golgi bodies show a particular activity which is provably related to the exine depositing.

    The present paper deals with the development of male and fe-wale gametophytes and the early enbryogenesis of Styrax suberifolius.The ovary 20-23 ovules.The sovules are hemitropous,with 2 imtigu-ments,tenuinucellate and the archesporial cell functions directly as the mega-spore mother cell.The chalazal megaspore is functional.The development ofthe embtyo sac conforms to the normal type.The mature embryo sac is rich in starch grains.The formation of the microspores are of the simulyameous type and the mature pollen grain is 2-celled.
