Abstract Yunnan Province is very rich in Lichen plant resources, of which many kinds can be provided for the exploitation and utilization in food, vege- table, perfume, medicine, and dyestuff, etc. In their studies on the exploitation and utilization of Lichen plants, the authors examined the constituents of seven species of Lichen plants. The names of these plants and the isolated chemical constituents are as follows: 1. Alectoria asiatica DR. ...Usnic acid (1 ). 2. Alectoria sulcata Nyl. ...Virensic acid (2 ), Ethyl haematommate(3 ), Rhizonic acid (4 ) and Haematommic acid (5 ).

Essential oils can be obtained from branches and leaves of Mur-raya tetramera growing in Yimen, Tonghai and Jianshui of Yunnan proyince by respectively steam distillation. By GC--MS, altogether 27 chemical constitu- ents were isolated and identified. In these chemical constitucnts, 21 constituents were isolated and identified from the essential oil of Murraya tetramera gro- wing in Yimen, their content accounted for 99.69% of the esscntial oil, 18 constituents were isolated and identified from the essentiai oil of Murraya tetramera growing in Tonghai, their contcnt accounted for 99.44% of the cssen- tial oil ; 20 constituents were isolated and identified from the essentiel oil of Murraya tetramera growing in Jianshui, their content accounted for 99.72% of the essential oil. In these constituents, except that caryophllene was sesqui- terpenescne, other 26 constituents were all monoterpenes or their oxygenous derivatives.

The chemical components of the stearn-distilled leaf and peel essen-tia1 oil from Citrus bergamia Risso., which is first introduced by us from abroad, were analyzed by GC--MS--DS technique, linear temperature programmed retention index, and authentic sample superimposition. Among 220 and 200 components, isolated by capillary gas chromatography from the steam--distilled leaf and peel cssential oil, 48 and 57 components were identified respectively. The identified components make up 99.80% and 98.54% of the leaf and peel essential oil. The leaf cssential oil is apparently distinquished from the peel essential oil by its less monoterpene (α-pinene, β-pinene, and limonene) content and high terpenol (α--terpineol, linalool, nerol, and geraniol) content.

The present paper deals with the cytological invcstigation of Dys- osma pleiantha (Hance) Woodson, which is a chinese medicine and endemic to China. The karyotype of the specics is reported here for the first time. Accor- ding to the terminology defined by Levan et al. the karyotype formula is K(2n) =8m(2SAT) + 2st(SAT) + 2t. It belongs to "2A" of Stebbins' karyo- typic symmetry and is generally regarded as a more primitive one. Measure- ments of the chromosome complement and the idiogram of the karyotype are given in Table l and Fig. 2 respectively.

From 1983 to 1985, authors had made the field plot cxperiments on rice (Oryza sativa L.) in Yuanjiang (dry-heat river valley about 400 m altitude), Dali (warm-cool plateau lake-shore about 2000 m altitudc) and Lijiang (cold--cool plateau area about 2400 m altitude), Yunnan, respectively, and have measured in situ daily changes in photosynthetic rate, its responses to quantum flux density, CO2 compensation points and photorespiration rates of rice grown at the above three localities.

The pollen morphology of 21 species, 17 genera and 6 families (Bretschneideraceae, Staphyleaceae, Connaraceae, Hippocastanaceae, Sapindaccae and Papaveraceae) has been examined under light microscope. 3 specics (Bre- tschneidera sinensis Hemsl.; Ellipanthiis glabrifolius Merr. and Argcmone mcxicana L.) were observed under scanning electron microscope. The present article discussed the palynological data mainly in relation to the classification and systematic position of Bretschneideraceae. The Brtschneideraceae is relatcd to the Connarceae and the Popoveraceae.

The flower of the new genus Tetradoxa (Adoxaceae) has been studied in detail. Its flower is almost 4merous. On rare occasions it is 3- merous or 5-merous. Their numerical ratio of calyx- and corolla-- lobes is always equal to one. The variations of the flower parts are not frequency like Adoxa. It is no doubt that the outer lobes are calyxes and the inner lober are corollas. The bundle fusion in the vasculariation of the flower in Tetradoxa is less than that in Adoxa. In our opinion, Tetradoxa is stayed on a original: position in the infrafamiliar evolution.

According to the morphologicaL character of a rhizome of Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis, it may be divided into three segments. They can produce descendants, but have nothing in some effect with each other. 1. The segment with terminal bud. This segment propagats new rhizome by teminal bud's movement of it's life along the direction finding and the con- tinuous growing. The aerial stem from this segment is freqently monopodial. The scgment can sprout out in the same year. It's annual growth is 1.5- 2.5 times as fast as other segments.

Whether Rorippa indica (L.) Hiern and, R. dubia (Pers.) Hara are distinet species, or the latter should be designated as an infraspecific taxon of the former (R. indica var. apetala (DC.) Hochreutiner), of they are simply conspecific, remains a controversial issue. The two species are conventionally discriminated from each other by a number of characteristies, but the most important diagnostic characters are as folloxvs: Petal present; pods with biscriate seeds.....R. indica Petals absent; pods witll uniseriate seeds.....R. dubia.

The Hengduan Mountains region is a zone including the southeastern edge of Qinghai-Xiang,West SIchang and northwestern Yunnan.Theere are aboundant forests, the vertical distibution of the vegetation is very evident and formed a number of particular ecologic enviroment. After examing whole specimens of Arthro1Tleris collectcd throuth Hungduan Muountains region, the author has reported the species and geographic distribution of the genus Arthro-meris in this region. There are about 12 species of this genus so far discovered in Hengduan Mountains region, which occupy 80% of the total species of the world and the region is the distribution center of the genus in modern times.

The plants of Sect. Hilliella O. E. Schulz of Cochlearia L. in China are very different from Cochlearia L. s. str., Glaucocochlearia (O. E. Schulz) Pobed. and Pseudosempervivum (Boiss.) Grossh. not only in the habit also in other characters especially in the more or less pustules of the fruits. We think these divergences appear sufficient, foundation fro a genus, and set up this section as a distinct new genus, namely Hilliella (O. E. Sch- ulz) Y. H. Zhang et H. W. Li, and do 8 new combinations for these plants, besides, 3 varieties are new.

Many papers have been written about evolution and phylogeny of organisms.Very often missing informations have stimulated more or less probable hypotheses. But extensive phlogenetic surverys of genera or even of families still are very seldom. That may derive from the fact.that especially in plnat phyla fossil traditions over more extent geological periods are very rare;in other words:within higher plants they can be characterized as exceptions.
